ἄλλοι δέ φασιν ὡς ἀναγνοὺς ὁ Γοργίας τὸν Πλάτωνος διάλογον πρὸς τοὺς παρόντας εἶπεν ὅτι οὐδὲν τούτων οὔτʼ εἶπεν οὔτʼ ἤκουσε παρὰ Πλάτωνος. ταὐτά φασι καὶ Φαίδωνα εἰπεῖν ἀναγνόντα τὸν περὶ Ψυχῆς.

Others say that Gorgias, after he had read Plato’s dialogue, said to those present that he hadn’t spoken any of this and neither heard it said by Plato. Phaedo affirmed the same after having read the dialogue on the soul.
